FAQs:

Who is NMFP for?

Everyone! Our concerts have been generously sponsored by community members and are free and open to the public. Additionally, we offer two educational programs. Our Young Artist Program is intended for talented high school musicians, and our Adult Program is for all musicians and music lovers, including those with no prior experience.

Where are your programs held?

All programming will be held at the Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities. Located in the heart of Southern Pines, NC, this beautiful venue has been an artistic haven for over a hundred years. Formerly the home of poet and novelist James Boyd, Weymouth is now a non-profit organization that hosts writers in a unique residency program, as well as programming concerts and other cultural events. We are delighted to have the Weymouth Center as our indispensable artistic partners in creating NMFP.

I’m thinking of coming to a concert. What should I expect?

Our concerts are informal, eclectic, and fun. We believe that music is the most powerful form of connection between people, and music-making should be an experience to match. The opening concert features 3S² (Third Stream Duo), known for their performances of genre-crossing improvised chamber music as well as classical masterworks. (To learn more about the artists, click here.) Our closing concert will showcase the skill of the NMFP Young Artists, performing improvised and newly-composed works by Adult Program participants alongside the members of 3S².

How much does it cost? Where can I register?

Young Artist Program: $75 tuition. Click here for more information and to register.

Adult Program: $65 per session, or $110 all-inclusive Festival Pass. Click here for more information and to register.

Concerts: These are admission-free and open to the public, but donations are always welcome!

I don’t play a musical instrument, but I’ve always wanted to.

That’s not a question…but we think we can help. Check out our Adult Program classes—they’re designed with you in mind.

I still have more questions. Who should I contact?

Reach out to our friends at Weymouth—you can contact them by phone at 910.692.6261, or by email at weymouthcenter@pinehurst.net
